There is no doubt that Christmas is my favourite time of the year. It is also the most wonderful time of the year, and even much of the secular world would break for a holiday as Christmas.
Indeed, there is no greater joy and peace and the love many will experience during this season. But as we go about catching up with our family and friends and relatives, merry making and enjoying the warmth of Christmas, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas, that is, it is all about the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Christ is the reason for Christmas, not some mythical Santa Claus that was created by man. See, God loves us so much that He sent His begotten Son to the world (John 3:16), to die for us while we were still sinners, so that we all can have eternal life through His Son if we accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour. In Christ, there is no condemnation. In Christ, we are made righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). This Christmas, while we enjoy and be grateful for what God has done in our lives, why not reach out to those who are weary, hurting, sick and afflicted, who need a touch from God. Let us share the Gospel by sharing our own testimonies, on how God has been good to us and how is He real in our lives. A personal testimony is one of the best form of evangelism to bring the lost to Christ. For me, I am very grateful to God for giving me a second chance at life. As I reflect back to the day when the cardiologist told me I had heart failure, and how God had brought me through each day till the day He gifted me a new heart, I cannot truly express how thankful I am to Him for saving me. In all the waiting, I have learned to lean on and trust in Him more, and I have learned to keep my temper under better control now (I am still learning to be slower to anger, and, when I am angry, to challenge myself in releasing my anger as quickly as possible and forgive). I realised that unhappiness, anger and strife only stresses you out more and it does only harm your physical body and even your spiritual self if you let it go out of control. In my case, it damaged my heart badly. Bottom line: anger and strife (which often brings unforgiveness) will only add stress to your heart, giving you no peace of mind. Already, unhealthy eating habits can have undesirable effects on our body, mind and soul, to state the obvious. While we should strive to eat and sleep better, have sufficient exercise, have a hearty laugh with family and friends, we must, intentionally, read and understand the Bible and meditate on the verses, and have a personal relationship with God. Seek Him and His kingdom first, and He will give us "all these things". Our Heavenly Father wants to bless us with good gifts. So why not receive His love today, and experience the unspeakable joy and peace that can only come from inviting Jesus Christ into your life. Today, He stands at your heart's door and knocks, waiting for you to welcome Him. He wants to bless you in every area. Salvation is free. There is no perfect time in asking Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour. If you sense a tugging in your heart, please do consider finding out more about Jesus by visiting a local church or reaching out to a Christian friend if you have one. Wait no longer. Experience God's love, mercy and grace which He so freely gives, today. My little niece Emely just celebrated her 3rd month and she’s growing fast! Already babbling at 2.5 months, she talks more this days in her own baby language and is certainly more engaged with her surroundings and people.
Spent the morning at East Coast Beach, followed by lunch at PS Cafe East Coast Park. I always love the occasional simple outing of a walk along the beach and then a hearty meal before heading home. Life can be un-complicated if we choose to make it that way, not packing too many activities into a day, so that we can fully enjoy every moment of it. Grateful to God. So I went to visit my little niece…we did a mini photoshoot for her (and, of course, her parents) in view of her coming one-month celebration. It’s amazing how babies grow in a matter of a few weeks. Here are some photos that I took yesterday. Enjoy :) I went to visit my little niece today and had prawn noodles for lunch, hence the title of this post. Lol.
